AJ's Cake

I suppose I could have turned down the order of making a cake with Virginia Tech on it, seeing as how we are a Wahoo family....but I have to admit, it was still just as much fun to make :)  I hope AJ had a great birthday!

Swiss Meringue Rosettes

Rememberance

Hotwheels Birthday

My eldest LOVES lemon cake, and he wanted a Hotwheels cake this year with a fondant racetrack and fondant name logo for his 8th birthday...who am I to say no? ;) 

And for his classroom treat, fudge marble cupcakes with chocolate fudge frosting.

Coconut Birthday Cake

A two-layer coconut cake filled with sweetened coconut and a whipped cream cheese coconut frosting.  The flowers are fondant painted with shimmer dust.

Purple Ombre Petal Birthday Cake

This cake was so fun to make!! The ombre "petals" were made with swiss buttercream topped with handmade chocolate butterflies!! Almost too pretty to eat....almost :)

Goal!!

My eldest son turned 7 this month....how time flies.  He's becoming quite good on the ice, and decided to make a birthday out of it.   The cupcakes were lemon (his fav) with homemade molded chocolates on top.  The hockey rink cake was chocolate with vanilla frosting topped with plastic hockey figurines and goals.  Happy Birthday to my one and only Shailen!!

Here's a 10" double layer square vanilla cake with vanilla icing made to look like a Lego brick.  Topped with fondant stars and letters plus a few Star Wars guys, just for the birthday boy :)

I made a Spongebob cake and some cupcakes for a 6 year old's birthday party.  The cake was a double layer yellow cake with chocolate buttercream frosting, covered and decorated in fondant.  The cupcakes were chocolate with chocolate buttercream with a fondant cupcake topper. 

A Toy Story Birthday

My "little" Kieren turned 4 in December and wanted a Toy Story Birthday.

He had a chocolate chip cake with a Woody figurine topper and lots of stars for his birthday along with cute colorful Toy Story themed vanilla cupcakes: aliens, sheriff badges, planets (for Buzz) and cowboy print toppers.

Monkey Birthday

Monkeys are so cute :) Here's a handmade fondant monkey on top of a double layer 9" strawberry cake frosted with cream cheese icing and covered in white fondant holding some fondant balloons....

Ariel

This is an 9" inch round 'rainbow' vanilla cake covered in vanilla buttercream.  The decorations are handmade from fondant, and Ariel is a candle...Happy Birthday Sophia!

A special day

Here's a 8" square double-layered chocolate cake with chocolate swiss buttercream filling, purple swiss buttercream frosting and hand-cut white fondant bow and accents...I hope the birthday girl liked her cake :)

Last weekend I had the chance to have a little birthday party for a cousin who's visiting from very far away....she 18 today, and I remember her when she was very little....the last time we met, she was turning 13, and now she's an official "grown-up" :) It was a special chance to spend her birthday with her before her long journey back home...Happy Birthday Sharni!!

Oh to be 13....

Last month I had the chance to make a 12-inch round double-layer chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream filling and red fondant in zebra-print with purple accents....just the kind of thing a 13-year would love :) I do love how it turned out though....it was lots of fun to make!
